Mambala pulliserry




Mambala pulisserry is a traditional recipe from Kerala which I dont miss making in the season of mangoes. To make the recipe a hit at your home, make sure the mangoes are ripened and sweeter ones.
Ingredients

Ripened mangoes- 2
Coconut grated-1 cup
Blended curd(yogurt)- 2 cups
Jaggery - 1 piece
Pepper corns- 4
Green chili- 4
Chilli powder- 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Cumin- 1 tsp
Coconut oil- 3 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek- 1/4 tsp
Urad dal- 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Red chili- 2 full
Salt


Method


  • In a heavy bottomed pan, put the cut mango pieces including the seed and add in chilli powder, turmeric powder, jaggery and salt and mix well adding water covering the mangoes and let this cook covered till the mangoes are completely cooked soft.
  • Make a fine paste of coconut and cumin and pepper and add this paste to the pan once mangoes are cooked.
  • Let it cook till the raw smell goes.
  • Blend the curd in mixer.
  • When the gravy is ready turn off the stove and put in the curd and give a mix.
  • Then in another pan add coconut oil and once hot put in mustard seeds urad dal fenugreek and curry leaves and dry chilies and add this to the pulisserry.
