Kollu paruppu masiyal
Ingredients
Horsegram/ Kollu- 1/4 cup
Pepper corns, cumin, coriander seeds- 1 tsp each
Dry red chilli- 1
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Onion- 1 small sized
Garlic- 3
Tomato- 1
Gingelly oil- 1 tbsp
Method

Method
- Soak the horsegram for 2 hours and pressure cook for 10 whistles in 3 cups of water.
- Reserve the water for making rasam.
- In a pan, dry roast pepper, cumin, coriander, chilli and curry leaves.
- Let it cool and grind into a fine powder.
- In the pan, add oil and once hot, add onion and cook till softens.
- Add the garlic and tomato and saute few minutes. Add in the dal along with 2 tsps of the reserved water and mix well. Check for seasoning.
- Let it cool completely and grind in the mixer.
- Serve with hot rice. This recipe serves 2 persons.
