A Healthy South-Indian breakfast!!
Ingredients
Measuring cup: 250 grams
Idli rice- 5 cups
Black gram/ urad dal(skinless)- 1.5 cups
Fenugreek seeds- 1 tsp
Salt- 3 tsp
Water- for grinding

Idli rice- 5 cups
Black gram/ urad dal(skinless)- 1.5 cups
Fenugreek seeds- 1 tsp
Salt- 3 tsp

Method
- Soak the black gram and rice separately for about 8 hours.
- First grind the black gram in the grinder adding water little by little. The final consistency should be smoother like butter. Transfer to a large vessel or bowl.
- Next, grind the rice adding some water. Rice need not to be buttery but into a fine paste. It can be coarse as of the ground semolina or rava.
- Mix both in the vessel to form a batter adding salt using hand.
- Cover and set aside for 8 hours to ferment.
Colder areas:
- Set the conventional oven in warmer mode for a minute.
- Turn off and keep the oven open for 30 seconds.
- Keep the bowl into the oven and turn on the oven light for 8 hours.
