RAVA KICHADI
Ingredients
White rava/ sooji- 3/4 cup
Vermicilli / semia- 1/4 cup
Green chillies- 3(Slit)
Carrot- 1
Beans- 5
Potato- 1/2
Green peas- 2 tbsp
Tomato- 1
Onion- 1/2 cut into small cubes
Grated ginger- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- a pinch
Curry leaves- few
Mustard seeds
Urad dhal & Channa dhal- for seasoning
Oil
Water- 2 cups
Salt as needed
Method
Ø In a pan, dry roast rava and semia separately for about 2 minutes.
Ø Cut all the vegetables into small cubes.
Ø In the same pan, add 2 tsps oil, then add mustard seeds, urad and channa dhal and once they splutter, add onions and sauté till brown & add curry leaves, ginger, green chillies and turmeric powder and mix well.
Ø Then add the vegetables and cook for 2-3 minutes and at last add tomato and salt and water and give a mix.
Ø Once it starts boiling, add the rava and semia and keep on stirring till it is done.
Note
Let the salt be a little more which you check before adding rava so that it will be of perfect taste once kichadi is done.
Serve hot with coconut chutney.
