Shrimp masala fry



Ingredients
Shrimp- 1/2 kg
Shallots/ Small onions- 10
Coconut- 3 tbsp grated
Pepper corns- 1 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1 1/2 tsp
Fennel/ Sombu- 1 tsp
Oil- 2 tbsp
Salt- as needed


Method

  • Peel the skin and de-vein the shrimps and clean in cold water and turmeric powder.
  • Prepare a paste by grinding shallots, pepper, fennel, coconut and red chilli powder with a little water.
  • In a pan, add oil  and once oil heats, add cleaned shrimp and half cook in the oil till the shrimp colour turns red in heat.
  • At this point, add the ground paste and needed salt and saute thoroughly for about 5 minutes.
  • Rinse the mixer with water and add it in the pan and cover with lis and let it cook for about 10 minutes in medium flame. Give a stir often in between.
  • Then keeping the pan open, cook the shrimp well by continuous stirring.
  • Cook well till the masala is dried and coated over the shrimp.
